From pearl necklaces to the viral JW Anderson cardigan, Harry Styles is one of the biggest influences in fashion today. It’s no surprise that with the release of his latest album Harry’s House, the star is opening a new chapter in his style journey — the return of the ’00s chunky beaded necklace.

As a middle schooler in the mid-’00s, I remember taking mirror selfies on my digital camera to show off my acrylic bead necklaces, which I owned in almost any color. My go-to fit to pair with the accessory would be a white T-shirt layered underneath a spaghetti strap tank top with an extra thick buckle belt.

While not exactly worn with the questionable fashion choices of the aughts, Styles has been sporting a wide range of chunky bead necklaces, pairing a transparent blue design with a white tee and knit cardigan. He also wore brick orange and rainbow iterations of the accessory on his latest cover for Better Homes & Gardens, accompanying the statement piece with graphic tank tops and comfy pajamas, courtesy of stylist Harry Lambert.
